Ohio Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program 24-25 R1

Description

Included in the state budget bill for state Fiscal Years 2024-2025, the state extended the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Programoverseen by the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD). The purpose is to provide nearly $150 million in grant funding for the demolition of commercial and residential buildings and the revitalization of surrounding properties. This program does not include brownfield sites. For more information on funding for brownfield sites, please visit the ODOD website for the Brownfield Remediation Program, created as part of the same legislation.

Within each county, a lead entity must be established. In counties where a land bank has been established, the land bank shall be the lead entity. 

As the lead entity for Summit County, the Summit County Land Bank (SCLB) has established this program portal for Project Submissions that may be included in future applications to the ODOD for these funds. Submission of projects to this portal does not guarantee the Summit County Land Bank will accept, consider, approve, forward, or submit those projects to ODOD for consideration. 

At this time, the Summit County Land Bank welcomes and encourages any qualified demolition project submission. 


IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Submission of a project to SCLB does not guarantee that SCLB will accept the project or submit it to ODOD for consideration.
  • Submission of a project to ODOD does not guarantee that ODOD will approve the project or award any funds.
  • Subrecipients must meet the 25% match requirement by ODOD. SCLB will not provide match funds for any project.
  • The SCLB will withhold 3% of any administrative costs reimbursed by ODOD, for all projects. 
  • Projects submitted by, or that directly benefit, private, for-profit entities will be subject to a 2% fee based on the total awarded amount. 
  • Subrecipients must follow prevailing wage requirements, where applicable.
  • Questions regarding a project should be submitted, via email only, to bdsr@summitlandbank.org 
  • Submission of a project is an acknowledgment of, and agreement to, these and other terms.
